Hummus lovers, you should definitely try this chickpea version which is extremely masaledar and delicious!

CHOLE MASALA HUMMUS

Ingredients

2 cups boiled chickpeas (chole) with the cooking liquor reserved
2 tbsps ghee
2 green chillies, slit
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsps ginger-green chilli paste
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
½ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1½ tsps Tata Sampann Chole Masala
Salt to taste
1 cup chickpea stock
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander
1 tbsp lemon juice
Onion rings for garnish
Cherry tomato halves for garnish
Green chilli for garnish
Coriander sprigs for garnish
Chilli oil to drizzle
Toasted kulcha triangles to serve

Method

1. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add green chillies and sauté for a few seconds. Add onions and sauté till golden brown.
2. Add ginger-green chilli paste and sauté for a few seconds. Add tomatoes and sauté for 3-4 minutes or till the tomatoes are pulpy.
3. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and Tata Sampann Chole Masala and sauté for a few seconds.
4. Add ½ cup water and cook for 2 minutes. Add the chickpeas, salt and mix well.
5. Add 1 cup chickpea cooking liquor and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes.
6. Add coriander and mix well. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool.
7. Transfer in a blender jar, add lemon juice and grind to fine paste.
8. Transfer into serving bowl. Garnish with onion rings, cherry tomato halves, green chilli and coriander sprig.
9. Drizzle chilli oil and serve with toasted kulcha traingles.
