Chicken 65 with Chinese Pulao

Chicken 65 Preparation

Ingredients for Chicken:
Boneless Chicken (cubes) 1kg
Ginger garlic paste 1 ½ tbsp
Salt 1 ½ tsp
Red chili powder 1 ½ tsp
Coriander powder ½ tbsp
Garam masala powder ½ tsp
Cornstarch 2 tbsp
All-purpose flour 1 tbsp
Egg (beaten) 1
Oil (for frying) as required

Ingredients for Sauce:
Oil 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Garlic (chopped) 1 tbsp
Green chilies (slit) 2-3
Red chilies (dried) 3-4
Curry leaves (fresh) 10-12
Ketchup 2 tbsp
Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
Water 2-3 tbsp
Fried Chicken

Ingredients Chinese Pulao:
Oil ⅓ cup
Whole spices 1 tbsp
Onion (sliced) ½ cup
Water 1/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Tomatoes (chopped) ½ cup
Salt 2 tsp
White pepper powder 2 tsp
Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
Potatoes ¼ cup
Carrots ¼ cup
Peas ¼ cup
Capsicum ¼ cup
Water 4 cups
Rice (soaked) 2 cups

Directions for Chicken 65:
1. In a bowl add chicken cubes, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, cornstarch, flour, egg and mix well. Let it marinate for 15-30 minutes.
2. Drop each marinated chicken piece separately in hot oil and deep fry until golden brown in color. Strain and keep aside.
3. Now, add oil to a preheated pan. Sizzle cumin seeds and saute garlic for a minute.
4. Add red chilies, green chilies and curry leaves and cook for 30 seconds.
5. Add ketchup and soy sauce and water. Mix and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium flame.
6. Add fried chicken to the sauce and cook until fully coated. Set aside.
Directions for Chinese Pulao:
1. In a pot, heat oil. Add black peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, and star anise. Sizzle for a moment.
2. Add onion and saute until it starts to turn brown. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute.
3. Add tomatoes, potatoes, peas, carrot and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium low flame. Add salt, white pepper and soy sauce and give it a good mix.
4. Add all the vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium-low flame.
5. Add water and bring it to a boil. Add soaked rice and let it cook until 80% of the water has been absorbed.
6. Add capsicum and cover it with a lid and steam it for 10-12 minutes over low heat.
7. Let off the steam and serve the Chinese pulao with Chicken 65.
