On Monday, July 18 2016 the luxurious Camby Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona set the stage for the first regional heat of the KAABOO ROCKN CHEF COMPETITION (see footage from last year). Presented by Chefs Roll and sponsored by US Foods, Barilla Pasta and Callebaut Chocolate, the exhilarating showdown saw Camby Hotel Director of Culinary Experiences Chef Dushyant Singh take on Executive Chef Jeremy McMillan of Bourbon Steak.Guests mingled during cocktail hour, enjoying Raymond Vineyard Wines and Bees Knees cocktails made with Nolets Silver Dry Gin before taking their seats to watch and taste as each chef created a separate three-course meal cooked on ROX Outdoor Grills. Chef Dushyant Singh ultimately clinched victory, securing his spot in the ROCKN CHEF Final at the KAABOO festival in San Diego, California, where he will compete against five other chefs in front of a panel of expert judges and KAABOO attendees in the winner-takes-all challenge on Saturday, September 17.
