Here's a healthy bhel prepared with brown chickpeas and fresh vegetables topped with some favourite bhel ingredients to try today.

CHANA BHEL

Ingredients

2 cups boiled brown chickpeas
1 medium carrot, peeled and cut into thin strips
1 medium beetroot, peeled and grated
½ cup chopped cabbage
2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and grated
2 green chillies, chopped
½ tsp red chilli powder
Black salt to taste
½ tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
½ tsp chaat masala
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander + for garnish
1 spiced onion
2 tbsps green chutney
3 tbsps date and tamarind chutney
½ tbsp red chilli-garlic chutney
Nylon sev to sprinkle

Method

1. Take chickpeas in a bowl. Add carrot, beetroot, cabbage, potatoes, green chillies, red chilli powder, black salt, dried mango powder, chaat masala, coriander, spiced onions, green chutney, date and tamarind chutney, red chilli garlic chutney and mix well.
2. Transfer in a serving bowl. Sprinkle sev, coriander and serve.
