Caramel Walnuts Topped with Cream Cheese | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Caramelised walnut pieces topped with cream cheese. A must try !

CARAMEL WALNUTS TOPPED WITH CREAM CHEESE

Ingredients

¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup walnuts
½ cup cream cheese
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1-2 fresh thyme sprigs + for garnishing
½ teaspoon red chilli flakes

Method

1. Line a baking tray with a silicon mat.
2. Heat sugar in a non-stick pan and caramelize it.
3. Coat each walnut with caramel and place them on a silicon mat and keep aside till it sets.
4. Combine cream cheese, crushed peppercorns and torn thyme sprigs in a bowl and mix. Add chilli flakes and mix well.
5. Fill a piping bag with some of the prepared cream cheese mixture. Pipe it out on each caramel walnut.
6. Fill remaining cream cheese mixture in a squeeze bottle and pipe out on a serving platter. Place prepared caramel walnuts and serve immediately garnished with some torn fresh thyme sprigs.

Cooking Time: 0-5 minutes
