Butter Chakli | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Deep fried crispy chakli with loads of butter. A popular snack available in the stores. Watch the video to know how to make it.

BUTTER CHAKLI

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
¾ cup semolina (suji)
1 cup rice flour
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
Oil for greasing and deep-frying

Method

1. Heat 1 cup water in a non-stick pan. Add salt, cumin seeds and butter and mix till butter melts.
2. Add semolina, mix well and cook till mixture thickens. Transfer in a bowl and let it cool.
3. Add rice flour and mix. Add 1 cup water and knead to a stiff dough.
4. Grease a chakli press with some oil and put a portion of dough in it. Press to form chaklis.
5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry chaklis till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
6. Serve.
