A quick snack fix for any hour! A crispy, golden goodness, shaped like a medu vada made with bread and easily available ingredients. BREAD VADA Ingredients 8-10 white bread slices5-6 curry leaves1-2 green chillies, finely chopped1 inch ginger, finely chopped2 tbsps roasted and crushed peanuts1 medium onion, finely choppedSalt to taste½ cup yogurt2 tbsps rice flourA pinch baking soda Oil for deep-frying and greasingMethod1. Trim off bread slices and cut into small pieces and transfer in a bowl. 2. Chop curry leaves into the bowl. Add green chillies, ginger, peanuts, onion and salt and mix. 3. Add yogurt and mix. Add rice flour and mix. Add baking soda and mix well. 4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.5. Grease your palms with some oil, divide the mixture into equal portions, shape them into balls, lightly flatten and make a hole in the center. These are bread vadas. 6. Deep-fry the bread vadas in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.7. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.
