BLT Sandwich | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Toasted multigrain bread slices layered with lettuce, tomato slices and bacon. A must try wholesome recipe.

BLT SANDWICH

Ingredients

16-18 bacon strips
Iceberg lettuce cups as required
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
12 multigrain bread slices
Butter for spreading
Pommery mustard for spreading
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste

Method

1. Preheat oven at 180ºC.
2. Place bread slices on a baking tray. Put the baking tray in preheated oven and toast till golden and crisp.
3. Heat a non-stick pan. Place bacon strips in it and cook till golden from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
4. Place 3 toasted bread slices on the worktop. Spread some butter and mustard on top. Put some torn lettuce cups and tomato slices on 2 slices. Sprinkle some salt and crushed peppercorns and place cooked bacon strips on them.
5. Place one layered slice on another and cover with the remaining bread. Similarly prepare the remaining sandwiches.
6. Serve immediately.
