In this video, we're going to show you how to make a कोकम कढ़ी recipe that's so easy and delicious, that you'll never want to go back to the old version again. A traditional Indian dish, kokum kadhi is a tangy and spicy curry.

KOKUM KADHI
Ingredients:

8-10 kokum petals
2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
10-12 curry leaves
1 green chilli, chopped
1 tbsp chopped garlic
Salt to taste
2 tsp chopped jaggery
Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Steamed rice to serve

Method
1. Soak kokum petals in 1½ cups of water for 20 minutes.
2. Strain the soaked kokum petals in a large bowl, add gram flour and mix well.
3. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, and let them change colour. Add asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilli, garlic, and sauté until golden brown.
4. Add the kokum mixture, 1 cup water, salt and jaggery and mix well. Cook till the mixture come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cook for 6-8 minutes more.
5. Switch the heat off, pour the kokum kadhi into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
