Let's see how to make beetroot halwa.
Beetroot needs to be peeled and grated.
Here I used 2 medium sized beetroots.
Heat 1 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee) in a pan.
Fry cashew nuts, raisins in it.
Other dry fruits could be used.
As cashew nuts start to change colour, move them into a different plate.
To the same pan, add 1 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee) and heat it.
Add grated beetroot
Fry on low flame
Stir and fry for 10-15 minutes
Fry till there is no raw smell coming out of beetroot
Add 1/4 cup sugar and mix
Add 1/2 cup milk
Let it boil and become thick
Add 2tablespoons coconut powder (optional)
Mix
Cook on low flame only
After the mixture becomes thick, add 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and mix
Beetroot halwa is ready now
Garnish with dry fruits and serve.
