बनायें स्वादिष्ट बैंगन वाली दाल | Baingan Dal Recipe | FoodFood

Regular dal se bore hogaye ho toh jaldi se ye Baingan wali Dal try kijiye, swadisht hai aur mehnat bhi kam!

BAINGAN WALI DAL

Ingredients:
6-8 small brinjals (baingan), cut into quarters
¾ cup red lentil (masoor dal), soaked for 20 minutes and drained
¼ cup Bengal gram (chana dal), soaked for 20 minutes and drained
¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Tadka
2 tbsps ghee
3-4 cloves
1 dried red chilli, broken
8-10 garlic cloves, sliced
2 small onions, finely chopped
2-3 green chillies, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp chopped jaggery
1 tsp tamarind pulp
1 tsp Kasuri Methi
½ tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
Ginger strips for garnish
Slit green chillies for garnish
Steamed rice to serve

Method:
1. Take red lentil in a pressure cooker, add Bengal gram, asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt and 2½ cups water and mix well. Cover and cook under pressure for 2-3 whistles.
2. Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely.
3. For the tadka, Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add cloves, dried red chilli, and garlic and sauté for a few seconds.
4. Add onions and sauté till they turn translucent. Add green chillies and mix and sauté for a few seconds.
5. Add tomato, mix and sauté till it turns soft and pulpy. Add brinjal and mix well.
6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt, and mix well. Sprinkle ¼ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
7. Add the cooker gram mixture, mix and add 1½ cups water, mix and cook till the mixture comes to a boil.
8. Add jaggery and tamarind pulp, mix and cook for a few seconds. Add Tata Sampann Kasuri Methi and garam masala powder and mix.
9. Add coriander leaves and take the pan off the heat. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with ginger strips and slit green chilli. Serve hot with steamed rice.
