Why slog to make Channa or Chole when we can make it instantaneously? Just get a can of boiled Garbanzo/Channa and Eureka(!) our bowl of yummilicious Channa is ready! Just toss it with steamed rice or dunk store bought rotis into the bowl of Channa and your day is made.

Chole or Channa is very easy to make, if one can forget the fastidiousness espcially with a Punjabi dish like Chole. Bachelor's or single individuals or students can cook a yummy bowl of Channa easily by following #SujanFunKitchen recipe for #Channa or #Chole. It's ridiculously easy if we can get store bought canned and boiled Garbanzo beans of Channa. I have used Canned Beans in my recipe; however we can soak overnight and pressure cook the Chana too and proceed with my recipe.

Ingredients:

Boiled Kabuli Channa/Garbanzo beans - 1 can

Tomato puree - ½ cup

Onions - 1 medium

Green chillies - 2

Ginger - ½ an inch

Jeera - 1 tsp

Mustard seeds

Aniseeds/saunf - 1 tsp
Asaefotida - 1)2 tsp
turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Sambar powder - 1 tsp or more to taste

Salt to taste

Oil for cooking

Method:

Chop onions, green chillies and ginger and keep aside

In a pan, splutter mustard seeds

Then add jeera

Next add saunf

Now add the chopped ginger and green chillies

Saute

Add the chopped onions and stir fry till translucent

Now add the tomato puree

Add the sambar powder and saute everything together over medium flame

Add water and let everything cook together

Add salt to taste

Now it's time to add the boiled Channa

Let everything cook together, covered

After 10 mins or so, garnish with fresh coriander leaves

Eat the yummy Bachelor's Channa with a bowl
