$800 Korean Sashimi Mukbang! ft Jayley Woo Authentic Korean Sashimi Experience in Singapore!

For this video, we headed down to Busan Korean Sashimi & Seafood for a $800 Korean Sashimi Mukbang featuring Jayley Woo ()! Busan Korean Sashimi (@busan.sg) is a new restaurant situated along Tanjong Pagar Road serving up a host of Korean delicacies with a focus on fresh seafood. The owner, Alex, is a Korean native and has special items on the menu from his hometown, Busan. They have a filled live fish tank on their premises, ensuring the highest quality of seafood.

Joining us was Jayley Woo (@jiaqiwoo), a renowned local actress appearing in shows such as The Queen and Jalan Jalan (available for viewing on MeWatch and Netflix). This video is less of a challenge and more Mukbang in style, allowing our guest to enthrall us with her exquisite personality and on-screen presence.

We ate a number of things, ranging from freshly prepared Korean sashimi to unique Busan-style eel that is coated in chilli sauce. Unlike Japanese sashimi, Korean sashimi is chewier and milder in taste. On top of wasabi and soy sauce, it comes with a sweet chilli sauce and a soy bean sauce. It is meant to be eaten together with a large range of sides and not simply be the main dish. They provide over 10 different sides when you order sashimi, including the quintessentially Korean kimchi and Western-influenced mashed potatoes. You can also wrap the sashimi similar to bossam-style eating. The owner offered as a massive pot of seafood in broth, which would go exceptionally well with rice and rounded off the meal nicely.

Overall, this restaurant is a great dining experience with family and friends. The food is refreshingly different from the usual Singaporean take on Korean food and contrasts with the Japanese-style we are all too familiar with. The seafood is fresh, the portions are huge and they maximise the use of every fish scooped up from their tank. The owner is very jovial and does not hesitate to offer complementary dishes to appreciative customers. In fact, he is the first person to open a Korean sashimi restaurant in Singapore back in 2006, so you know you will get an authentic experience here!

You can see more of Jayley on her shows through MeWatch and Netflix. She will be starring in an upcoming Mediacorp drama, The Heartland Hero, premiering early next year. Be sure to tune in to support her!
