Roti Jalar .Popular Malaysian snack served in the evenings with a side of curry

Ingredients :
- 500 grams all-purpose flour(Maida)
- 1/2 tbspn turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tspn cooking oil and 1 tspn ghee mixed .
- Salt to taste
- Water - To make like dosa batter (running consistency )

*Methods to prepare*
1. Put Maida(all-purpose flour), Salt and turmeric powder into a bowl and mix it well. Then add egg, milk, and beat it until the batter is silky smooth. Grind it in juice blender/mixture so there wont be any lumps (If lumps remain, pass it through a filter.)
2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, and grease it with a one or two tpsn of cooking oil.I have used roti jala mold to make roti jalar.
3. If u don’t have the mold, you can try follow these steps:
- When the pan is hot, using spoon, drizzle the batter onto the pan in a circular motion. It doesn’t have to be neat because the gaps between the batter is what gives roti jala (signature lacy pattern).
4. Drip and drizzle in 3-5 tbspn of batter (depending on the size of your pan) and then cook for 2-3 minutes, until the top is set.
5. When the roti jala is cooked, transfer it to a tray or plate.
6. Repeat the same with remaining batter and prepare more roti jalar
7 . Take some 2 to 3 roti jalar and fold the roti jala to make it like a triangular shape.
8. Now ROTI JALAR is ready to Serve warm ; These roti jalar are best had with a classic chicken curry or any spicy, sauce dishes.
