Chua Kim Heng (ร้านฉั่วคิมเฮง) is a legendary Thai Chinese restaurant in Bangkok that is known most for serving braised goose, which in Thai is called han paloe (ห่านพะโล้). In Bangkok there are many restaurants that serve duck, but there aren’t too any that make goose, so any chance to eat goose, I will happily take it.

In this video, my good friend and fellow food lover Dwight, headed over to Chua Kim Heng (ร้านฉั่วคิมเฮง) to eat some braised goose and to eat another one of their specialities, a goose feet pan with egg noodles (ขาห่านอบแห้ง (ไส่หมี่) - more about this later.

Here’s everything we ate at this Thai Chinese legendary braised goose restaurant in Bangkok:

Braised goose (ห่านพะโล้) - The braised goose is braised in a secret blend of many spices, and one of the best things is watching them slice and dice the goose off the bone with expertise using some amazing Chinese cleavers. What I loved about the taste of the braised goose is that it wasn’t sweet, but quite salty, and the sauce was outstanding.

Goose feet pan (ขาห่านอบแห้ง (ไส่หมี่) - This is one of the speciality dishes at Chua Kim Heng (ร้านฉั่วคิมเฮง), and it was delicious. There were spices and herbs at the bottom of the pan, with egg noodles, and goose feet. Chicken feet aren’t typically my favorite, but goose feet on the other hand are wonderful.

Bitter melon soup (น้ำแกงมะระตุ๋น) - This dish included pork ribs and soft bitter melon. It was nice and porky, and pretty tasty.

Pea shoots with oyster sauce (โต้วเหมี่ยวน้ำมันหอย) - Finally for vegetable we got some stir fried pea shoots with oyster sauce.

Overall, the food at Chua Kim Heng (ร้านฉั่วคิมเฮง) is quite expensive, a little overpriced in my opinion. However, the 4th generation braised goose is awesome, and the goose feet are wonderful. It’s a legendary Thai Chinese goose restaurant in Bangkok.
